From 19–25 October 2025, Heriot-Watt University participated on behalf of the AEROSUB project at the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025) in Hangzhou, China.
IROS 2025 convened researchers, engineers, and industry leaders from around the world to explore the frontiers of robotics, featuring technical sessions, panel discussions, tutorials, workshops, exhibits, and guided tours. The programme provided an extensive platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing innovations, and discussing future directions in intelligent robotic systems.
During the conference, Heriot-Watt University delivered presentations and contributed to sessions focused on the automation of mobile manipulator platforms, emphasising applications relevant to offshore wind operations. These interactions strengthened AEROSUB’s connections with the international robotics community and highlighted the project’s advances in autonomous marine and offshore energy robotics.
Participation at IROS 2025 reinforced AEROSUB’s commitment to cutting-edge research in robotics, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across a global network of experts in intelligent systems.
