The 30ᵗʰ IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2025) took place from 9 to 12 September 2025 in Porto, Portugal, bringing together the global community of researchers, engineers and industry experts to present cutting-edge research, share ideas and explore future directions in automation, robotics and emerging technologies.
INESC TEC was present at the event representing the AEROSUB project (Automated Inspection Robots for Surface, Aerial and Underwater Substructures), highlighting the Institute’s work in advancing robotics for complex real-world environments. The participation provided an opportunity to showcase ongoing developments and engage with leading experts in the fields of industrial automation and intelligent systems.
As part of the EU-funded AEROSUB initiative, which focuses on developing innovative robotic solutions for the inspection, operation and maintenance of fixed and floating offshore wind farms, INESC TEC’s presence at ETFA reinforced the project’s alignment with state-of-the-art research and technological innovation.
Through its participation, INESC TEC strengthened its international visibility and contributed to ongoing discussions on how advanced robotic and automation solutions can support safer, more efficient and more sustainable industrial and energy operations.
