The workshop brought together global experts to coordinate research on autonomous robotic systems for wind energy operations.

On 20–21 October 2025, the University of Limerick represented the AEROSUB project at the IEA Task Force “Automated Robotics for Wind Farms” Workshop, held in Limerick, Ireland.

Organised under the framework of the International Energy Agency (IEA), the meeting aimed to initiate a globally coordinated research effort focused on autonomous robotic systems for wind energy operations. It gathered experts from academia, research organisations, and industry to identify shared challenges, opportunities, and research priorities across multiple robotic platforms, including aerial, surface, subsea, and ground systems.

Through University of Limerick’s participation, AEROSUB contributed to shaping the international research agenda for robotics in wind energy, reinforcing its role in advancing automation, safety, and sustainability in offshore wind operations.
