EU-Funded Marine Robotics and Applications (EMRA)

On 5 June, the AEROSUB project took part in the EU-Funded Marine Robotics and Applications (EMRA) Workshop 2025, held in Trondheim, Norway. Organised by Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the event gathered experts from across academia, industry, and the public sector to exchange ideas and explore the future of marine robotics and offshore applications.

Edin Omerdic and Isela Ibrahimovic, representing the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS – University of Limerick), presented AEROSUB’s approach to robotic solutions for the operation and maintenance of fixed and floating offshore wind farms. Their presentation highlighted how AEROSUB aims to enhance operational efficiency in harsh offshore environments, contributing to a more sustainable and competitive renewable energy sector.

This year’s edition of EMRA featured a dynamic programme, including a joint day with students and researchers from the MIR – Erasmus Mundus Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics programme. The event offered a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and cross-fertilisation of ideas across disciplines in marine robotics, enabling technologies, and their real-world applications.

See photos from the event below and stay tuned for more updates on AEROSUB’s contributions to next-generation offshore wind solutions!
