The European Robotics Forum (ERF) 2025 took place from 25th to 27th March 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and funding bodies from across Europe. With 1,500+ participants and 75+ sponsors and exhibitors, the event highlighted the latest trends in robotics, fostered collaboration, and sparked new ideas driving innovation across industry, research, and society.
Participants had the opportunity to explore industrial institutions as well as Fraunhofer Institutes, the University of Stuttgart, Cyber Valley, and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. These visits offered valuable insights into pioneering research and market-ready applications. The convergence of academia, research institutions, and industry presents a unique opportunity for collaboration and the exploration of innovative solutions. With over 1,000 industrial projects each year, the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA serves as a perfect base for attracting sponsors and delegates beyond euRobotics.
The AEROSUB partners — INESC TEC, French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), and Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC) — shared insights on Inspection and Maintenance Robotics, presenting the goals of AEROSUB, expected outcomes, and key activities.
Focused on advancing robotic solutions for wind energy, AEROSUB is developing innovative operation and maintenance (O&M) procedures to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of fixed and floating offshore wind farms.
