From 9 to 11 September 2025, the AEROSUB project participated in the World Ocean Summit Europe, held in Cascais, Portugal. The event brought together international leaders, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives to discuss priorities and challenges shaping the future of the oceans.
Building on the momentum of the United Nations Ocean Conference, the summit addressed key themes such as coastal resilience, marine biodiversity, deep-sea mining, ocean technologies, and maritime security and defence. Funded by the Horizon Europe programme, AEROSUB contributed to the discussions by sharing its pioneering vision for robotic solutions in the offshore wind energy sector, covering both fixed and floating infrastructures.
During the summit, KPMG Portugal, a partner within the AEROSUB consortium, represented the project in several sessions focused on sustainability and emerging technological solutions. Their participation highlighted AEROSUB’s work in developing advanced robotic systems for subsea operations, emphasising the importance of automation and artificial intelligence in the maintenance and monitoring of offshore wind farms.
AEROSUB’s presence at the World Ocean Summit Europe helped strengthen strategic partnerships, foster cross-sector collaboration, and raise awareness of the project’s role within Europe’s blue economy landscape.
Through its participation, AEROSUB reaffirmed its commitment to driving a sustainable energy transition, supporting the development of technological innovations that safeguard marine ecosystems and advance the future of clean energy.
